One take. Two and a quarter hours. That accomplishment by itself is something of note, but what surprised me was how propulsive the one take "gimmick" turned out to be. I'm not going to say that this film was without its flaws, but I found them easy to forgive. Laia Costa was magnetic as a spunky little Spanish Bjork, providing a compelling center to what could otherwise have been dismissed as a stunt. Nitpick all you want, but the bottom line is that it was inspired filmmaking that actually worked.
