My Life as a Zucchini ★★★★½

It seems to be difficult to make kids' movies that don't "speak down" to them, that feature realistic kids and take up relevant issues. This, however, succeeds with amazing grace. This is the story of Courgette and his adventures at the orphanage he ends up in. It deals with sadness without wallowing, friendship without contrived antagonists, and love with a healthy amount of (in)appropriate humor.
