Wooo!! Loved it. One of my fav recent horror movies— read: not really horror at all. A Lynchian meditation on the male psyche blending, shifting, merging together.
I won’t waste time comparing this to Eraserhead or Persona or Mulholland Dr. I will, however, waste time talking about how Eggers could’ve drifted into that Cronenberg campy body horror gruesomeness but instead carved out a path that feels truly fresh.
Pattinson and Willem pull no punches. One of my favorites this year, no doubt.
High 8/ Low 9 but I’ll give it the 4.5 so my local AMC continues to show the occasional independent films!
