No other film captures the feeling of being stuck better than this one. Slow, pensive, and with just a tinge of hope you might just miss it.
Still remains my favorite out of the Coen’s filmography.
I went into this expecting another Goodfellas or Casino, and while it contained all the classic elements expected in a Scorsese crime-driven drama, it ended up being a pretty mature exploration into age and death.
Also, it was nice to see Joe Pesci back on the screen. He’s still got it.
