Sometimes it feels like life gives me oranges and still expects lemonade
I mean, obviously this is Bong Joon-ho’s masterpiece. It’s just one of the most technically sound movies to ever be made. The score and cinematography are outstanding. The framing specifically and the color palette of the whole film are gorgeous. The writing is absolutely genius. And those performances are all top notch. Song Kang-ho is clearly terrific. But I think my favorite performance would be that of Park So-dam, she’s in complete control the WHOLE time. This movie is top tier, but you don’t need me to tell you that.
🔙 The Spectacular Now
I felt the need to rewatch this because this wasn’t a movie that stuck with me very much from when I was a kid. Upon rewatch, I can confirm it is very good. It’s definitely one of the more emotional movies of Pixar’s collection. I still don’t think the opening is thaaaat sad because we hardly know either character at that point, but the rest of the movie is pretty heartfelt. Russell and Dug are awesome, and Carl is a really good main character. Also, I would like to add that Michael Giacchino is undefeated.
