i cannot believe i had never heard of this before now. natasha lyonne, cassandra peterson, thomas dekker.. such a stacked cast on top of a very fun story. the epitome of fun, dumb, campy, queer, & meta horror all in one little film. it’s really worth the watch.
for me, this movie just really doesn’t work. there’s a fine line to be drawn whenever approaching a plot like this, and i feel like it crosses it while having no real point. there are so many random moments that honestly just made me feel sick to watch, and though that may have been the point to some degree, it does so by achieving nothing else. there are a few characters that i actually enjoyed following, but of course, they’re…

i’ve never loved to hate a zoey deutch character so badly.
i didn’t expect this movie to have such a realness to the satire, an intense mix of painfully and unironically funny but raw and emotional. there’s an anxious feeling that keeps building throughout the entire nine part journey the film takes us on. it’s so fun yet also very relevant, filled with incredible performances all around, especially from mia isaac and zoey deutch. 100% recommend.
