I’m admittedly not a huge fan of Baz Luhrmann. I have never enjoyed his previous work and it’s mostly because he constantly takes me out of what he’s doing with his stylistic choices. I can agree that he’s bold, but he usually isn’t my yum and that’s okay. That being said this is my favorite of his work. Austin Butler is phenomenal. The performance sequences are perfect. Luhrmann’s particular type of chaos works so well here. I was truly impressed…
If there was one criticism of M. Night Shyamalan that I believe to be true it’s that he sometimes gives the audience too much of what they want and not enough of what they need. I can’t even fault him for it.
That being said this ruled. A must watch for anyone who has liked his films because they’re fun, emotional in an aloof & deadpan kind of way, and they deliver a certain type of humor that not all will…
