I think it goes without saying that this is one of the most visually stunning entries in the MCU. However, aside from the visuals, barely anything works for me in this movie. I like the stuff with Yondu, particularly the payoff, but everything else is such a miss for me. I hate Ego as a villain (although Kurt Russell does a good job), Star-Lord is unbearable, nothing is presented in a way that isn't obvious and is either pulled from nowhere or obviously set up in a clumsy way earlier on, and the stuff with the Sovereign nation SUCKS.

I know a lot of people love this one, even have it as their favourite entry, but I can't help that the cons outweighs the pros. Still, the soundtrack bangs, the visuals are great, and Michael Rooker is practically perfect in every way.
