Ashley 💜’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is such an honest film. Watching the protagonists grow physically but also mentally and emotionally is beyond satisfying. We get to see kids who all share the common thread of feeling lost and trying to figure their shit out, while their escape from reality is skating.
Skating for these kids is so much more then you would ever expect. They use skating to feel freedom and to build a family outside of their own. The director touches on race and abuse throughout the film, telling a very touching and sometimes difficult story to watch. However that’s life and i thought it was captured beautifully.
