This movie is a surreal, enigmatic film exploring the developments in the life of Vicky. Vicky is young woman who struggles to end her miserable relationship with her abusive boyfriend Hao-Hao, who she's lived with since her teenage years.

The opening scene in which Vicky runs in slow motion accompanied by some fine techno music is amazing. This scene still haunts me and is in my opinion just visually/technically stunning. Also the colours which Hou Hsiao-hsien captures are amazing, eye…

Outstanding Comedy, which does not look like American style, avoids cliches and represents a very intelligent genre. Rachel McAdams is eager to eat, Jason Bateman stays classy, and Its very funny to watch Jesse Plemons as a mysterious policeman. It has a great tempo, a good idea, good buzz and a good situation humor, nicely done twists and turns that are more and more shooting at the end, and there is also an action and a dose of tension, so for me a great deal of satisfaction and perfect fun. I would not oppose a sequel.
