Aggressively average. Not a bad film but it’s too derivative and familiar to be good.

Twister 1996
This shows how good Philip Seymour Hoffman was even this early on, that he actually elevates this with only a small role. And if you’re keeping track, his past role was in Scent of a Woman, then Boogie Nights — all three wildly different and oddly compelling performances. Every scene is better if he’s in it. This carried on all the way to MI:3, when his performance turned a curiously average entry in to one of the best in the series.
