Rewatching the Star Wars films in Chronological Order (except the Sequels because eww) 7/8
What else can be said about the most famous sequel of all time, and one of the most famous film in cinema history?
Empire is bolder, darker, stronger in terms of production and cinematography than its predecessor. It set the foundations of the series in stone and it also feature the most famous plot-twist in the history of entertainment.
But I probably liked A New Hope a tad more, still. I just feel the middle act of Empire is nobody's favorite part of the film and drags a bit.
That of course doesn't detract much from one of the most of the bitter but beautiful final act.
