Larson Evans’s review published on Letterboxd:
this left me stunned. beyond impressive and powerful. visually rich without having flashy colours or frenetic camerawork, the exuberance of youth paired with the beautiful landscapes of france is enough, which makes the extremely harsh realities and horrors of war strike you that much harder. this really does go above and beyond in depicting how dark and traumatic the experience is with a lot of brutal moments that extract a piece of your soul right there and then, but it never feels gratuitous in any way. made me cry a lot and had me in awe on many many occasions. phenomenal.
