There’s a reason why his name is jean-luc GODard! How this film works, I don’t know, all I know is that it is great.
Like many of Godards films you get more information about the story reading a 5-line synopsis then actually watching the film. But I believe the story in a Godard film is always second-hand to the beautiful Mise en scene and weird and different storytelling. This film succeeds in the latter more so then almost any other Godard film I have seen.
