This is a difficult one.
I love Elton John. And Taron Egerton absolutely embodied him in this fantasy musical. But after all is said and done, I don't have too much to say about it. There were some really fantastic moments, and some not so fantastic ones. I absolutely loved the Tiny Dancer sequence. The costumes were brilliant.
Yet I can't help but feel...empty. It feels like there's been no lasting effect on me, no magic that I'm still carrying with me. Maybe because it's so by the numbers, but I usually don't have a problem with that. Perhaps upon rewatch I'll have more to say, but for now, I enjoyed it while watching and will always cry when I hear Your Song.
