This movie is like a love child between a Sofia Coppola and Yorgos Lanthimos film. I like surreal deadpan humor when it's done for a purpose but I had a hard time connecting to this film. Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges did a fantastic job in their roles but eh, overall this movie is just #richpeopleproblems you know?
This is my thought process during the movie:
15 min into this movie: oh this seems good, seems interesting
1 hour into this movie: huh... this is depressing
1.5 hours into movie: is anyone even capable of happiness
1.75 hours into the movie: is happiness as a concept even a thing
2 hours into the movie: I SWEAR TO GOD IF SOMEONE CRIES AGAIN...!
Credits roll: oh thank god it’s over
Post credits scene plays: FUCK EVERYTHING
