Love this film! It’s true that the Lisbon girls move within a dream world where the outside world is unable to enter. As the outside world grows more and more fascinated with the girls, they constructed their own narratives surrounding their lives. The news anchor paints them as pitiful and innocently tortured. The boys imagine the girls as goddesses, traipsing about the world or puzzle pieces of broken teenage adolescence. Their mother sees them as expiration dates or ticking timebombs…
