Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway ★★★★½

Saw this on t.v. as a little kid in the late 70s. Totally put the seed in my head that if I ran away I could live on the streets, maybe even be - a hooker! Gawd! I was dumb. Also, I didn't realize at the time that we lived 45 mins. away from Hollywood Boulevard and on paper I had nothing to runaway from (Maybe, the third grade?!) where title character Dawn Weathersby (Eve Plumb) was running from a house filled with neglect and strife in the middle of Arizona. DPOATR introduced me to the sounds of The Runaways. Damn. The acting in this made-for-tv movie is solid and storyline follows through.
