I think I liked it a bit less this time. Why? I can't say. It's still one hell of a great movie, but it's like some of the magic from the first watch disappeared. I don't mean that I started to see problems with the movie... it just wasn't as good as the first time. That being said, I had time to actually admire Chazelle's direction in this viewing; it's pretty damn great. Once again, Stone and Gosling are wonderful. And how about that finale? The last 10 minutes are perfect. This finale gives me goosebumps and is majestic. I might not have loved La La Land as much this time around, but it still remains a great movie overall; the direction, the score, the performances, the cinematography; all that is pure brillance. Maybe only the screenplay is a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, thoroughly enjoyable and a great homage.
