Funny how an eight hour film is much different than an eight part mini series. Or how quick Lord of the Rings whizzes by.

Spielberg is really firing on all cylinders here. We can debate to the end of time when Spielberg peaked but he's displaying such mastery on many levels. Everyone talks about the first 30 minutes which are perfect, yes. What really makes this film is how the characters are flawed but they keep going forward. From the hand trumble to showing tears to showing fear AND bravery. It's all on display.

It's been 7~ years since I've last watched this so I was past overdue. I thought valentine's day would be a great day to rewatch. Control chaos at its best. Chazelle pulls off a great film about old-school filmmaking in Hollywood. All three main characters are freaking amazing. The story gives you a bit of everything. Such an epic. See it on the big screen while you can!
