This made me think of Vertigo and anyone who has read my multiple reviews of the Hitchcock film know I have conflicted feelings about it.
Same here, not to the same extent, but for similar reasons. Decision to Leave is thoroughly absorbing and imaginative storytelling. I can't spoil it because the story is complicated and too intertwined to go into detail. I'm not sure I could explain it to myself and I should watch it again to see what I missed in the telling. A lot, I'm sure.
Because for all its inventiveness and beauty, I was letdown at the end. For me, its whole was less interesting than the sum of its parts.
