Dalton’s review published on Letterboxd:
During the first half, I was not feeling this movie and struggling to see why people seemed to love this movie so much. Then as I was watching and letting it sink more as I was watching I just had the realization of what a brilliant portrayal of an introverted masculinity this is. From the way he would just clam up and get silent around his parents to the story of his crush it was an amazing showing of his psyche and emotional struggles. The ending where he finally feels happy and confident was so beautiful and satisfying.
And of course I could not praise this movie without mentioning Christina Ricci. She was just as brilliant.
