It's crazy how much I laughed while watching this movie, despite getting spooked by the crazy effects. The characters really felt like people-which make the stakes of the film feel a lot higher. And the fact that characters act like...people, panicked in an insane situation-instead of just stupidly-makes every failure and alien review HIT! Great movie.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I haven't seen this movie in years, and I remember loving the interactions between Max and Vincent-the arguing of morals, along with the...reach between two lonely people who are going through a routine, and broken out of it. There's something about movies that go through cities, especially at night, that can sour a mood and remind you of how solitary things can be. Thanks Mann for reminding me of every depressing drive home I've ever had late at night.
