It's really quite impressive how interesting director Chantal Akerman made JEANNE DIELMAN, 23, QUAI DU COMMERCE 1080 BRUXELLES, a film about the mundane life of a stay at home mother. Just three days of her life are covered and the viewer is left with a sense of just how bored this woman has become with her life. While I felt like something big was going to happen for the ending, what did transpire was not something I had thought of. While I was intrigued and curious during my first watch, I don't think this is a film that I could watch very often without losing my patience.
