    Beautiful Boy

Post rock crescendos, crippling addiction crushing an entire family and strong performances by everyone. What more can you really want?

Who the fuck would go to the hospital after stealing 5 million dollars in a heist? Have these ladies never watched a crime drama in their lives? Viola Davis is a revelation, the material is probably a bit beneath McQueen and her though.

    Mad Max: Fury Road

Visceral, aggressive, like being hit over the head for two hours with a sledgehammer. In other words, amazing. The only lulls were when the movie tried to invoke sympathy for the characters, unfortunately that doesn't work when a movie is two hours of mayhem with about ten lines of dialogue. All in all better than the classic films and incredibly refreshing to see an action blockbuster take so many risks.

I didn't realize this would be a New Hope remastered. Except this remaster is inferior and soulless. Literally every plot point is done in new hope, and better done in the original. The difference is the equivalent to vinyl and mp3. Daisy Ridley plays her role like she's on 120 mg of Adderall at all times. She's annoying and boring, her besting the film's main villain with no training was pretty empty. Like JJ's other films, this is a vapid exercise in nostalgia masturbation. The original trilogy was lightning in a bottle.
