Howdy everyone!! Super excited to be hosting this month’s scavenger hunt. I’ve only been a huge film fan for a couple of years, so I still have loads of films I need to see. There's not really a "theme" for my prompts but I tried to give you all the opportunity to watch lots of types of films.
If for any reason any of these prompts are not doable for you, feel free to replace it with a film from your watchlist.

Here are the prompts:
1. July 1 is Canada Day. Watch a film starring a famous Canadian.
2. I love listening to movie scores and my favourites are from Pixar films. Watch a Pixar film or a film scored by Randy Newman, Thomas Newman, Michael Giacchino, Patrick Doyle, Jeff Danna, or Mychael Danna.
3. Watch one of of the first 200 of The Most Controversial Films on Letterboxd.
4. All of us have extremely popular films we’ve been meaning to get to but just haven’t. Go to the Most Popular page, filter by Not Watched, and watch one of the first ten films that appears.
5. Now that we’ve watched something popular, let’s watch something more obscure. Watch a film with fewer than 3000 watches on Letterboxd.
6. I used to be hesitant to watch older films, but I took a film class this year that made me appreciate them more. Watch a film from the 1940s or earlier.
7. Of course, film has come a long way since the 1940s. Watch a film with a 2019 or 2020 release date.
8. Right now (and always) it's super important to support black artists. Watch a film by a black director or screenwriter.

9. July 9th is my sister's birthday. Watch a film with an annoying sibling. (I say this out of love of course)
10. Watch a film that features white-collar crime.
11. Watch a drama starring a current/former SNL cast member.
12. My favourite genre (sub-genre?) of film is coming-of-age. Watch a coming-of-age film from the past 10 years.
13. Watch a non-Disney animated film.
14. Growing up I played soccer, badminton, and tennis. Watch a film featuring a female athlete.
15. I'm a narcissist so watch one of my favourite films! If that's not doable (I know my list is quite basic), watch any film that I've rated 4 stars or higher.
16. I'm currently majoring in math and computer science. Watch a film about math or science.
17. Watch a film about a struggle with mental illness or addiction.
18. Each year I like to watch as many Oscar-nominated films as I can before the ceremony. Watch any film that has been nominated for an Academy Award for its screenplay or direction.
19. Watch a film that has won a Razzie award.
20. Growing up, my favourite movies were the Harry Potter movies. Watch a film starring any actor/actress who has been in a Harry Potter film.
21. Watch one of Rotten Tomatoes' 150 Essential Comedies
22. Watch a film with a title that's a full sentence.
23. I watch Jeopardy every day. Watch a film featured in a Jeopardy clue.
24. Several concerts that I'd planned to see this summer have been postponed due to the pandemic. Watch a concert movie, a music documentary, or a music biopic.
25. July 25th is National Day of the Cowboy in the USA. Watch a western or any film with a cowboy.
26. Watch a film with a poster you like that you have not yet seen.
27. Watch a popular film from the year you were born.
28. Watch a film that was filmed in or near Toronto.
29. Social media has been vital in the development of recent news stories. Watch a film where social media plays a significant role.
30. July 30th is International Friendship day. Watch a film about best friends.
31. Finally, July 31st is J.K. Rowling's birthday. In honour of this, watch a film with LGBTQ+ themes.
