Kane Le-Petit’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film made me want to take a shower afterwards. Gummo is a bleak , disturbing and very strange look into what feels like an alien planet. It feels borderline documentary and some of the characters were truly , TRULY disgusting human beings. It's not necessarily a dull film , since the power of morbid fascination will make you want to keep watching , but it does tend to become a little bit tedious after 45 minutes. Some scenes didn't mesh well , some even felt pretentious but overall it was a strangely captivating insight into some completely different individuals.
