    Billy Madison and I have always had a complicated relationship. The reason being is that I hate Billy with every fiber of my being, but am infatuated with literally every single side character in this movie. I quote them all to this day. From Carl and Miss Lippy, all the way down to the bus driver and the sloppy joe lady. The Danny McGrath scene set to ELO's "Telephone Line" is peak cinema to me, so it's no coincidence that Steve Buscemi is my most watched actor on my stats page.

    "Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em!"

    While I'm leaning towards the opinion that Men is Alex Garland's weakest narrative to date, I can't deny that certain aesthetic elements almost pulled me into the patriarchal fever-dream he was trying to conjure up. It's a movie at odds with itself and leaves it's director at an interesting crossroads in the future. Men are conflicted creatures, I suppose.
