Sorcerer ★★★

Visual design anticipates the decayed retro-futurism of gearhead blockbusters like Blade Runner and Alien.

Too bad it's all an Imperialist-supremacist fantasy of shithole countries and the savage, ignorant hostiles who live there... or is it somehow the opposite? The only scene that had any emotional weight (as opposed to purely somatic) was the standoff between Company soldiers and townspeople after the accident with massive fatalities that set the plot in motion, looked like one of the flashpoints that started the Central American dirty-wars of the 70s/80s.
