Zach Kircher’s review published on Letterboxd:
Concert films typically aren’t my kind of documentary, but there’s certainly something special about experiencing a hugely entertaining live recording of Gospel while immersed with the original crowd. It speaks to how much the act of going to the theater can be a communal thing. That is only amplified by the fact that this was shot and recorded in a church of all places.
Aretha’s style of singing isn’t always my forte (HAR DE HAR HAR), but I found a lot of joy in seeing her perform alongside so many other energetic and talented people. May she Rest In Peace.
