This film totally cements that Luca is one of my favorite working directors as he just takes full throttle of the film and never lets it go. We are here from start to finish and while at times the pacing can be off the horror is one that is more subtle rather than it being upfront. All of it is the slowest of slow burns for a climax that is as wild as it is rabid. It all amounts to a decadent show of restraint and talent.
