I, Daniel Blake ★★★

Fine film on a long overdue subject. Loach bravely dives head into the Kafkaesque world of the British benefits system and it becomes clear that the system doesn't 'benefit' anybody but a political class determined to pull out the welfare safety net from as many people as possible. People are literally dying to find work. It is far from Loach's finest film, nonetheless, it demonstrates that after over half a century of raging against the machine, Loach's anger has not dimmed and he still has much to say.
