I wish this movie was just a “hang out with Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal” movie. Because as a buddy cop/action comedy thing, it just… isn’t funny. 🙃 When the two of them get to just be buddies, it’s FUNNY. I wanted more inside baseball actor jokes to live up to the thesis statement of a title. Alas alack. Still a very fun idea!

It’s fine! A classic play turned into a cute little movie. Neil Simon overwrites everything, which is mostly okay for the stage and a little boring and busy for the screen. Research watch for the show I’m starting rehearsals for.

What sentimental schlock. I want all of these actors to be in better movies because they try SO hard to elevate the cheesiness. The characters are flat and the story is manipulative. Would make an EXCELLENT made for t.v. movie that you leave on while you're helping your mom set the table, and she's getting wasted on red wine, so you don't really have to pay attention, but then she sees the sentimental parts and is like "aw" and then you go back to what you were doing.

Holy shit. First of all, the slickness of this film is undeniable. It's sharp, sterile, disgusting, and everything you want and more from the fashion industry at the heart of the movie.
