austin butler plays an uninteresting and uncharismatic imitation of elvis presley. the music's good, but most of the time tom hanks' bad dutch accent is drowning it out. there's some vague attempt to say something about racism or exploitation, but it's so weak or paternalistic to almost cause offense. made me want to shoot my tv!
an ugly, stupid, bloated mess of a movie. probably gonna win a few oscars and hopefully in a years time never be thought of again. baz sucks. this stinks.

matt reeve's the batman is overly long, unoriginal, uninspired, uninteresting, ideologically incoherent, inessential. if you've been paying close attention to all the big studio films of the last ten, twenty, thirty years none of this really should come as a shock. i'm disappointed. i was hoping this might be good. now i feel like a fool for getting my hopes up.

i was kind of hoping with a title like that it would be a more in depth exploration of dialectics and/or monism. there's a bit there, i just would've liked more of it.
otherwise pretty good. classic, solid story. wonderful vfx. genuinely hard to know what's real. even when you know something doesn't actually exist, it's hard to be sure.
made me feel depressed i'll never go to pandora, or fall in love with an 8ft tall, beautiful, blue woman. excited to see what james does next.
