Liam Loves Movies’s review published on Letterboxd :
DETECTIVE PIKACHU disappears into the cinematic ether as quickly as it arrives, such is the ho-hum weightlessness of this seemingly harmless but unaccountably boring fantasy. The world shared by Pokemon and humankind is an especially uninspired retread of cyberpunk cliches.
Ryan Reynolds is occasionally delightful in the title role and pretty much rescues this thing from being the most forgettable piece of fluff released this year. I can hardly even recall the third act because I genuinely dozed off during most of it. Maybe I just hate fun?
