The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club ★★★

I think the older I get, the less I am able to relate to the The Breakfast Club which I guess is both normal and sort of terrifying. Its '80s cheese is becoming ever-more pungent and some acting is more than a little melodramatic and stagey, but as a reminder to teenagers that school isn't quite the be-all and end-all of life it initially appears to be, the film will remain timeless and essential. Emilio Estevez' bullying confession still gets me every time, too.
