The murder mystery genre isn’t normally my thing. But this was a good flick.
I really enjoyed the first half of this film. However, it never stepped up in pace and the flow of film was a plodding tedious locomotion. This and the fact that I didn't care for the ending (and it also was anticlimactic on top of that) made this one an ok, but not very eventful ride.
10 Cloverfield Lane crept up on me.
I went in to this film not expecting much. I had heard that somehow it tied in to the Cloverfield universe, and having enjoyed that film, I had wanted to see this one but had held off for a long time.
I love that the film isn’t a sequel in the regular sense at all. The story within the story was a really impactful way to approach this one! Very good performances all around. What a great (and intense!) little story! If you liked Cloverfield, and are considering this one, you won’t be disappointed.
Now I want another sequel...
