I really thought this would be the Tarantino film I loved: I’d get to see it in cinemas, it’s his most “real” and I love Margot Robbie (obviously).

However in the end I was just super indifferent to it. I didn’t love it as much as Inglorious Basterds or Reservoir Dogs and even the ones I personally didn’t love like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction are objectively better made films I’d argue.

Let me get my criticisms out the way first. Tonally this didn’t click for me at all. I was laughing at stuff that a lot of people weren’t, and a lot of people were laughing at stuff I didn’t find funny at all. I was also very much aware I was watching a movie the whole time, which might sound stupid but normally I’m much more invested than I was here.

Also I saw that a lot of people had said that this plot built slowly and was quite meandering which I was looking forward to but all I got in the end was the feeling that it was building to something that never really amounted to anything. Even at the very end I was waiting for something else to happen, again this could just be because I wasn’t properly invested into it.

Okay now onto what I really liked! Firstly I loved the acting, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie were great and Leo seemed to be having a lot of fun with his role!

Secondly Tarantino made me feel nostalgic for a time I was born over 30 years to late to experience in a place half way around the world from where I live which is awesome!

But yeah that’s pretty much all I have to say about this, a lot of people have said I’ll love Jackie Brown so I really want to watch that soon as this wasn’t really for me unfortunately.
