Sean Baker’s review published on Letterboxd:
Truly entertained and engaged throughout. Reminds me in many ways of Hannibal... a sequel that leans towards a comic book sensibility. It also had a real sense of sadness about it and reminded me of the way I felt watching The Irishman - both films asking the audience to participate in ruminations of life in the twilight hours. Ewan McGregor is solid and deserves recognition for his performance.
But unfortunately (yes, I know I'm a broken record) the digital cinematography really took me out. This is a sequel to an incredibly shot film and I wish there would have been more of an effort to emulate the look of Kubrick's classic.
