Went in to this with major bias because I love the original... but Luca delivers and I think this is easily one of the best films of the year.
Tone and pacing are so unique. The style feels both classically retro and refreshingly new at the same time. Dakota Johnson is really strong and photographs so well in this world. Tilda Swinton is the perfect Madame Blanc. Love Thom Yorke's score.
Cinematography is out of this world. Sayombhu Mukdeeprom is one of the best cinematographers working today.
Didn't love how exposed Helena Markos was shot... I love how she is shrouded in darkness in the original. Plus, although impressive, not sure why we needed Tilda Swinton in three roles.
See it on the big screen. I plan to do so again.
