    Bonnie and Clyde

Watched on DVD with film group. Previous watch was for a film class/paper a decade ago.
The sympathy it inspires in spite of the criminal behavior is intriguing. Some of the shots were not high quality, but it's a lasting movie, due to the content. Then again, the opening shot I've seen a few times, due to its relevance to opening scenes and some intense camerawork.

I kept thinking about how the common person seemed to support the duo, but I'm pretty sure that was just a reflection of the excitement of the era. Would be interesting to research again.

    La La Land

Watched on DVD with Film Group.
Watched as a follow-up to Singin' in the Rain. This had more of a plot. Definite style with color and such. Okay for vocals and prety nice footwork. I hoped I'd like it more the 2nd time, and I liked it about the same. Still got a bit choked up at the end, just because the emotional pull was successful. ;)

There is just something wildly fun about this movie. It's empowering to females even when Rupert Evert is in drag. I'll always love it, no matter how cheesy and campy it is.

I picked up this DVD because of June Diane Raphael, who plays one of Jane Fonda's daughters on Grace and Frankie. I gotta say, I was a bit disappointed, but I'm not sure what I was expecting. Maybe I have a bias against women playing dumb? I would say it's a mix between Romy & Michele's High School Reunion and Dumb & Dumber.

There were redeeming moments/themes of course. The strain on the relationship between the characters was evident, so that's relatable…
