Kosinski has already made one of the year's best movies with Maverick, now he‘s back with Spiderhead.
In Spiderhead, Objects and their functions no longer have any significance. All it does perceive is perception itself, the hell of forms and figures devoid in human emotion and detached from the reality of it‘s placid surfaces, its lush setting and clean spaces, in which lies a deep moral decay. And since the appearance of things is no longer definitive but limitless, this paradisiacal awareness freed me from the reality external to myself. There just is no bigger mystery in life than the human mind and its consciousness.

If you think a vibrating toothbrush, shattering bedside lamp and a flying tablecloth are scary,... you are in for a wild ride.

Burning 2018
“There is no right or wrong there, just the morals of nature.“
A deeply fascinating, hypnotic, as well as philosophical and overall mysterious piece of south-korean cinema.
It‘s a shame this didn‘t get any kind of attention by the Academy (but Parasite did the following year). Steven Yeun easily delivered the best perfermonce I‘ve seen in 2018. Also not to forget to mention the dreamlike-hypnoticing score by Mowg🎶.
This film just has absolutely everything I love in terms of visual art and especially (visual) storytelling📝. Just consider to remember —>“The truth is all in your head.“
