Old ★★½

The central conceit is interesting enough, but works better for emotional and contemplative themes and not thrills. Unfortunately, this movie goes for thrills 95% of the time so when that other stuff occurs it falls really flat. The thrills are also not that engaging, a lot of time is spent on characters panicking and making unlikely decisions, and they often randomly go off alone or in pairs, which wouldn't really make sense for anyone to do in this situation. Also, the most horrific moments that occur simultaneously near the end are incredibly unbelievable in many ways that just would not actually happen, especially regarding how the other characters respond. I was always wondering what would happen next in the film though, which is a win.
