I've thought about this poster for years now without ever knowing what the movie was actually about (outside of it being a coming of age tale). When my friend Katie mentioned it's one of her favorites I was reminded that's it's been sitting in my watchlist for ages.
The soundtrack, sound editing, and editing give this movie a spark that sets it apart form other movies in the genre. While Oliver Tate is fairly stereotypical and the movie had a predictable plot - I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Craig Roberts gives one hell of a lead performance! I bet with rewatches, it grows on me even more.
[012/365 new (to me) movies in 2018]
**Also I just want to watch all of Sally Hawkins' filmography.
