I know people want to say the Oscars don’t mean anything this year, but the best actress and actor categories are utterly stacked and I would be thrilled if Viola and Chadwick both win on Sunday. Their performances were so vital, so electric in such different ways. They elevated every moment of this movie, especially when it teetered on the edge of forgetting it even was a movie and threatened to slip back into a play.

And that ending... just blow after blow of misery. What a freeze frame.
