writing and plotting are weak and manipulative to say the least.

but björk is magical. the style is gorgeous. the musical scenes are weirdly amazing.

these characters, by simply occupying their space in everyday society, are acting politically. the fact that this movie has nothing more than ordinary-everyday-life shots, is political.

I didn't realize how hooked I was until it was over.

It creates tension in everyday actions, in silences... it's nuanced and it shows the story from so many different perspectives, that it kinda forces you to put all those emotional puzzle pieces together in your head, which is very interesting.
