Summer 100: #50
Well shot, forceful, disturbing, but not as good as I expected it to be. The beginning sequence really fucked me up and some parts were difficult to watch but I had a hard time getting really engaged. The beginning is too slow for my taste although everything after wasn’t bad.
Like everything was good but nothing was stellar or incredibly good, story-wise anyways. I liked it but I really wanted this to be as gripping and as engaging as Hereditary.
The ending was probably the best part though. Despite the graphic nature of most of the film, some shots were really beautiful and well done. I like this film but I’m not crazy about it.
