Somehow even better on rewatch
Every part feels so alive it's breathtaking. This is one of the few films I truly felt like I had stepped into their world; I could feel the muggy heat of a summer afternoon, the cool dampness of the morning, the taste of peach juice, and hear the soft rustling of the leaves at night. It's like a beautiful Italian summer vacation and I never wanted to leave. The theatre lights came up while the end credits rolled but no one left until long after they ended. A truly magical and immersive experience. It's the definition of a masterpiece.
