The story is fantastic. The two main actors do fantastic jobs. It’s an important story. (But…sometimes I felt like the filmmakers got in their own way a bit- the story is so compelling you don’t need much else). Directed by a woman.
I think loads of people are going to think this is a swing and a miss. But he went for it - big budget, long, very serious. It’s bizarre but a spectacle I couldn’t turn away from. I’m not sure I enjoyed it in the spirit the director intended, and I’m not sure that matters.
Warning: I found this excessively violent and there was loads of animal death.
