Imagine this. Films are drugs. Various types, different effects. And there are certain, very rare types that are so unexplainably great—life changing even—that its highest effect can only be felt once and that’s when you watch it for the first time. Mulholland Drive is that kind of drug for me. How I wish I can forget everything and watch this again. It’s quite baffling how those films that I love the most are the ones I can’t really explain why. I guess it all boils down to the feeling that it gives me. And while what I felt in re-watches pales in comparison as to when I watched this for the first time, I am very pleased that I still love this enough to remain as my favorite film of all time. And I don’t think that’s gonna change anytime soon. Best film to end the year and the decade. I fucking love you David Lynch.
